I’m not usually very big on making New Year’s resolutions.  The main one that I annually make, and usually am pretty good at keeping, is that I resolve to write the current year – rather than last year – on checks, progress notes, and other material that needs to be dated.

Other than that, I try to make behavior changes when I think about it rather than delaying until the first of the year.

This year, however, I do want to make a resolution and it’s directed at you.  Many of you have been actively involved in The Mental Health Gym for years, and others have been followers on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.  What you probably noticed is that 2015 wasn’t an overly active year for our website.

While I’ve regularly posted blogs and have maintained a presence in social media, The Mental Health Gym didn’t offer any new courses podcasts, books, or reports last year.  Part of that has been due to other work responsibilities and part has been due to the tremendous amount of time that my wife and I spent when we were selling our house in the suburbs and moving to Center City of Philadelphia – where we had wanted to live for years.

A big part of the inactivity, however, has not been due to inactivity at all – but rather because of a desire to develop a more interactive website with more helpful products and more involvement by The Mental Health Gym members helping other members gain from your experiences.

Our unique approach to personal growth and development, Goal-Achieving Psychotherapy (GAP) bridges the GAP between thinking and doing.  Rather than being an approach that lectures at you, it is designed to evolve from you and your experiences.

Members of The Mental Health Gym (for those who aren’t members, be aware that enrolling for membership is free at our website) will soon get the first newsletter of the year with information about our first podcast and publication of the year as well as a contest to enable Gym members to   improve and help others to improve their mental fitness.

If you haven’t visited our website, please check us out at www.thementalhealthgym.com.  Even if it’s not as good as it will get, it’s still pretty good.  And my New Year’s pledge to you is that it will get better and more active and more interactive.
