Sometimes I like to use The Mental Health Gym website for a type of role modeling.
Using the regular gym as an analogy, we know that some folks visit the gym at times of crisis; when they’ve become too overweight or out-of-shape or unhealthy in some other way. Others are regular gym visitors for just the opposite reason; they are healthy and want to stay that way. That is my hope for all members of The Mental Health Gym – whether you needed a kick- start on the way to mental fitness; whether you are doing well and wanting to maintain your emotional muscle tone; or whether you are a professional looking for additional ideas to help others. Our objective for all is to get healthy and stay that way.
This is where the website as a role model comes in. Our first year and a half has been a healthy one, as our website has achieved success, with a ever-growing membership, and as one of the “go to places” for information, products, and guidance relative to positive psychology and our unique concept of Goal-Achieving Psychotherapy. Now it’s time to work on staying healthy.
You undoubtedly notice that the website has changed. While I hope those changes make the website more attractive, I also hope that it is increasingly user friendly with more content more ways of delivering content, more products, more opportunities for interaction, and more options to maximize membership in The Mental Health Gym to meet each member’s individual needs.
I hope that you will find that we’ve become more helpful and interesting – not because we’ve needed to, but because it avoids stagnation and helps us to maintain our emotional health.
Hopefully this process, as well as the website’s content, will serve as a role model of mental health and contribute to your emotional fitness.
